Haematology/Oncology Nursing Opportunities

As a Registered Nurse in the Haematology/Oncology Inpatient Unit, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.

\Key Responsibilities:\

  • Deliver compassionate person-centred care to patients with haematological and oncological conditions\
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify patient needs and priorities, and document care provided\
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information and care plans\
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and unit performance\
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health and wellbeing\
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times\
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge\
  • Maintain current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and recent paediatric experience\
  • Utilise excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues, patients and families\
  • Ensure seamless continuity of care by collaborating with other healthcare providers\
  • Develop and implement evidence-based care plans that prioritise patient needs and preferences\
  • Implement strategies to improve patient safety and reduce errors\
  • Engage in reflective practice to continually improve nursing practice and patient outcomes\
  • Support and facilitate peer learning and mentorship opportunities\
  • Embed a culture of safety, respect and compassion within the unit\
  • Facilitate effective handovers and communicate clearly with other healthcare providers\
  • Utilise technology to streamline processes and enhance patient care\
  • Monitor and report on patient outcomes and unit performance metrics\
  • Identify areas for quality improvement and lead initiatives to drive change\
  • Participate in research and quality improvement projects to advance nursing practice and patient care\
