Job Opportunity

A government agency in Sydney is seeking a visionary actuary leader to drive internal actuarial capabilities and transition to a hybrid operating model.

This is a rare opportunity to build a team from scratch, influence strategic direction, and contribute to reform across personal injury and statutory insurance schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a hybrid actuarial services model.
  • Establish and lead an internal actuarial function.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on scheme performance and risk.
  • Design and develop actuarial models to support regulatory decision-making.
  • Mentor and uplift capability across the organization.
  • Lead reform initiatives in workers' compensation and related schemes.

About You

A Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) is required.

Extensive experience in personal injury insurance or statutory schemes is essential.

A proven track record in building actuarial functions and leading cross-functional teams is necessary.

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills are crucial.

A strategic thinker with the ability to translate data into actionable insights is ideal.
