The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Conservation to lead the conservation and preservation of its diverse collection. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering strategic and practical leadership to the Conservation team, creating developmental opportunities to foster a professional working environment, and supporting the Senior Manager in providing expert advice and analysis regarding conservation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement projects and policies relevant to conservation, and create a Conservation annual work program to meet digitisation and project milestones.
- Team Management: Lead the Conservation team to meet strategic objectives and manage resources, and create developmental opportunities to foster a professional working environment.
- Expert Advice: Support the Senior Manager in providing expert advice and analysis regarding conservation, and cultivate productive working relationships across the NFSA and engage with audiovisual networks.
- Conservation Experience: Experience and knowledge of conservation practices relevant to a national collecting institution, and significant experience in audiovisual, document, and artefact collection conservation practices.
- Leadership and Management: Ability to lead a team to meet strategic objectives and manage resources, and highly developed project management and leadership skills.
- Communication and Collaboration: Proven ability to maintain productive working relationships and communicate effectively, and knowledge of standards and best practices in collection management.
- Diverse and Inclusive Work Environment: A supportive work environment with access to great training and development opportunities, generous leave and flexible working arrangements, and employee assistance programs.
