Audiovisual Conservation Specialist

The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) is seeking an Audiovisual Conservation Specialist to join its Conservation and Collection Management Section. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that preserves and conserves Australia's audiovisual heritage.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and preserve physical audiovisual collections for digitisation, curatorial, and access programs.
- Conduct research and analysis of audiovisual materials to ensure their preservation and accessibility.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the conservation and preservation of audiovisual materials.
- Provide technical advice and training to Conservation staff and internal clients.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in cultural heritage conservation, audiovisual archiving, or equivalent experience working in a collecting institution, archive, or audio-visual industry.
- Aptitude for attention to detail for technical tasks.
The Conservation team is part of the Conservation and Collection Management Section of the Collection Preservation Branch. The team conducts an extensive work program providing a range of activities for the preservation and ongoing care of the audiovisual, documents, and artefacts collection.
