About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Regional Coordinator to join our team at Food and Wine. As a key member of our community engagement team, you will play a vital role in building positive relationships between our organization and local Pacific and Timorese community groups.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Community Engagement: Identify and engage with local Pacific and Timorese community groups to support the welfare of workers by connecting them with their local communities through social, cultural, and sporting events and health and religious services held outside of working hours.
  2. Event Planning: Prepare in advance and communicate to local Pacific and Timorese community groups a quarterly schedule of events and engagement activities to promote social cohesion in local Pacific and Timorese community groups.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Provide scheduled engagement with relevant local Pacific and Timorese community groups, including activities to raise awareness and understanding of our organization's mission and values with an aim of supporting the welfare and wellbeing of workers and growing genuine people-to-people connections.
  4. Cross-Cultural Awareness: Promote social cohesion between workers and their local communities, including by raising cross-cultural awareness amongst local Pacific and Timorese community groups and other stakeholders and promoting the events and activities.
  5. Representative Engagement: In consultation with approved employers, identify, invite, and arrange for the attendance of, representatives of local Pacific and Timorese community groups at arrival briefings.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in community development or a related field or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge, and skills.
  2. Experience: Studies or demonstrated relevant experience in project management and/or community and stakeholder engagement.
  3. Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in dealing with diverse stakeholders in complex situations.
  4. Ability: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
  5. Documentation: Ability to prepare, check, and edit documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
  6. Technology: Intermediate ability with document preparation, customer relations management platforms, e-mail, and web browser.
  7. Cultural Competence: Experience working with people of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  8. Preferred Qualification: Pacific Islander, South Sea Islander, or Timorese background.
  9. Driver's License: Valid Driver's License.
