Seeking a Distinguished Academic in Rheumatology

As a distinguished academic, you will have the opportunity to lead research and teaching initiatives in rheumatology at our institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a clinical, translational or basic science research program relevant to Rheumatology
  • Provide leadership in developing clinical/education programs for MD students relating to Rheumatology
  • Promote clinical care as part of the healthcare team in the Specialty of Rheumatology, including actively contributing to Rheumatology Department activities;
  • Enhance a culture that is collaborative, team-oriented and respects the skill sets and opinions of all staff

About You:
  • Hold a PhD in a field relevant to Rheumatology
  • Be registered as a medical practitioner in NSW with recognition by AHPRA as a Specialist Rheumatologist and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, or equivalent
  • Have an emerging national/international reputation and research track record, including publications in peer-reviewed international journals and success in obtaining research funding and supervision of research students
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives within Rheumatology
  • A network of relationships with key academic and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the Specialty, Hospital/School/Faculty and University
