About the Role
Oxygen Recruitment & HR is seeking a highly experienced General Counsel to join our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing lender in the Sydney CBD. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for all compliance, legal, and company secretary functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage transactional matters, including loan documentation, due diligence, and monitoring compliance
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Handle litigation matters, including loan arrears and caveat matters
- Manage AFCA cases
- Implement and monitor activities on the compliance calendar, including regulatory authorities
- Contribute to project work as required
About You
The ideal candidate will have several years of legal experience gained in Financial Services in Australia, with relevant tertiary legal qualifications and a current practicing certificate. You will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to negotiate with senior business leaders and demonstrate commercial acumen balanced with risk management.
