Job Title: Principal Safety Specialist

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications).

About the Role

This is a critical role that will provide support across all businesses, functionally partnering with engineering teams and stakeholders to drive end-to-end lifecycle management of safety in design. You will have a specific focus on automation and machinery from concept to decommission and dispose.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Safety in design reviews at various stages of lifecycle, utilising risk methodologies and design principles.
  • Support capital and procurement processes to ensure 'right first time' safety outcomes.
  • Lead and influence internal and external audit programs to maintain world-class safety management systems.
  • Provide strategic direction and coaching on safety matters in chapter teams.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience as a safety engineer or equivalent role.
  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant engineering field, registered under a state-based professional engineering board.
  • In-depth understanding of AS/NZ 4024 and familiarity with EU Machine Directive 2006/42/EC.
  • Strong experience with industry-leading safety frameworks, WHS regulations, and AU/NZ ISO Standards.
