Senior Child Protection Practitioner Job Opportunity

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced Senior Child Protection Practitioner. In this position, you will be responsible for leading case planning, risk assessment, and critical inquiry in line with best practice principles and legislative requirements.

You will have a strong understanding of social justice and the complexities of families. You will be able to collaborate with your team manager to strengthen case practice, provide effective service delivery, and support other practitioners in developing plans to ensure the safety, stability, and development of children and young people.

The successful candidate will possess excellent supervisory skills, with the ability to support and develop others in practice. You will also have a valid driver's licence and be willing to travel, including to regional areas.

Responsibilities
  • Risk Assessment and Analysis: further develops and coaches others in their understanding of risk assessment and analysis
  • Case Planning Review and Case Management: provides case planning advice, guidance and support to others; directly supports and inputs into cases where there is unacceptable risk to the child
  • Critical Inquiry: leads planning, review and management of issues in line with best practice principles and legislative requirements
Requirements
  • Supervisory experience with the ability to support and develop others in practice
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel, including in regional Victoria
  • Understanding of Aboriginal culture and the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle in child protection practice
  • Working with Children Check required
