Job Title: Metal Fabricator

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to fill the role of Metal Fabricator. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating custom metal components and structural elements for marquees and tents.

About the Role:
  • The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of technical drawings and specifications, allowing them to accurately interpret and implement fabrications.
  • Selecting appropriate materials is crucial in this role. The successful candidate will ensure that materials are chosen according to job specifications, including metal type, profile, size, and thickness.
  • Metal cutting machines such as cold saws for steel and power tools like angle grinders will be used to achieve precise cuts.
  • A radial arm drilling machine will be operated to drill aluminium and steel components, enabling precise bolted connections for secure assembly.
  • The ability to perform welding operations on various tent components, primarily mild steel, utilising MIG welding techniques along with other methods is essential.
  • Detailed inspections of welds will be conducted to assess penetration depth, dimensional accuracy, and identify any potential defects or inconsistencies.
  • Fabricated parts must be completed to a high standard by finishing through cleaning, filing, polishing, and grinding.
Requirements:
  • A Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or higher qualification in Fabrication Trade studies with at least one year of full-time experience working in a Metal Fabricator role.
  • Alternatively, at least three years of work experience in a Metal Fabricator role is required.
