We are seeking a dedicated and values-driven leader to help shape the future of support for carers across New South Wales.

About Us

We are the peak non-government organisation for carers in NSW, part of the National Carer Network and a member of Carers Australia. Our focus is on supporting and advocating for all carers regardless of their age, location, life-stage or circumstances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in developing and implementing strategic plans that align with our organisational goals.
  • Board Development: Contribute to the growth and development of the Board, ensuring effective governance and decision-making.
  • Financial Oversight: Provide guidance on financial planning and performance, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Meetings are held regularly, usually lasting from three to four hours. In addition, Board workshops may be scheduled as required. Directors also have the opportunity to serve on Board committees and working groups.

Eligibility Criteria
  1. Demonstrated experience in academic policy development and research within the human services and/or not-for-profit sector.
  2. Experience in Technology/Technology Consulting at a Senior/Executive level.
  3. A record of participation in the non-government and/or human service sectors at a leadership level or above.

The successful applicant will bring alignment with our purpose and have the capacity to devote time and energy to this role. They will also possess one or more of the following general skills, competencies and/or experience:

  1. Lived experience and/or representative of the following demographic groups: carers, living rurally/regionally, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, young person (18-25 years), or from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
  2. Leadership, vision, and ability to champion our vision.
  3. An understanding of the principles and practices of effective corporate governance including strategic planning and direction setting.
  4. Sound understanding of accounting and finance.
  5. Experience in developing strategy and building new revenue sources.
  6. Experience in building partnerships, both corporate and government.

Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria and undergo a satisfactory National Police Check, Working with Children Check, and hold a current Director ID.
