About the Student Learning Support role

This position works under the supervision of a teacher to support students' learning and classroom participation, including those with additional needs.

A safe environment for children is ensured through standards of conduct, requiring working with children checks and background references for all involved.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supporting individual students inside and outside the classroom to participate in learning and activities.
  2. Assisting students with specific learning needs, such as scribing and reading, and providing feedback to teachers.
  3. Reinforcing appropriate behavior to support student engagement.
  4. Helping students use classroom technology.
  5. Performing administrative tasks like record keeping and resource production.
  6. Maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
  7. Supporting students' physical needs and personal care as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Current Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card) before commencement.
  • Current Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel within the Diocese.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements safely.

Desirable Skills

  • No formal qualification required; however, a Cert III in School-Based Education Support or equivalent is preferred.
