Academic Leader in Science

This is a senior leadership position that involves fostering excellence in teaching and learning, as well as leading the development of the Science curriculum.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of NESA Science syllabuses and considerable experience in HSC courses. They will be an outstanding teacher and leader who can inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Extensive knowledge of Science and its applications;
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire others;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A deep commitment to delivering high-quality education to students.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Science curriculum, working closely with colleagues to ensure that our programs are rigorous, engaging and relevant to the needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the teaching and learning of Science across the school;
  • Develop and implement a clear and exciting vision for the Department of Science;
  • Support the Head of Department in fostering a love of Science among students;
  • Assist in building the breadth and depth of the Science programs, and of student outcomes, across the school.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field;
  • Valid NSW Teaching Accreditation;
  • At least 5 years' experience in teaching Science at the secondary level;
  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role.
