Trade Assistant Trainee Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Trade Assistant Trainee.

About the Role:
  • Work on rail and civil infrastructure projects in Adelaide, gaining hands-on experience and a nationally recognised qualification.
  • Perform various tasks including excavation, concrete works, fencing, paving, and vegetation management.

You will work under close supervision to learn from experienced tradespeople and participate in planned network shutdowns. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining station and corridor presentation through graffiti removal, litter collection, and minor facility repairs.
  • Supporting rail maintenance activities through safe operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Assisting with track, platform, and facility upgrades.
  • Complying with all rail safety and environmental standards, acting as Track Protection Officer where required.
  • Contributing to site setup, planning, and team coordination for daily tasks.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Requirements:
  • Experience in a maintenance, construction, or civil infrastructure environment.
  • Hands-on skills in labouring roles, including the use of tools, plant, and equipment.
  • A basic understanding of safety, quality, and environmental compliance in construction or maintenance settings.
  • The ability to follow instructions and complete tasks to a high standard.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including night shift and weekends.
  • Experience in a rail/transport environment is highly desirable.
  • The ability to pass a Rail Safety Worker Category 1 medical assessment.
