Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly ambitious Project Director to lead our strategic projects and programs. This role is responsible for the successful delivery of projects that drive transformation across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have proven success leading large program management functions in complex environments, with demonstrated success delivering ERP or digital transformation projects on time and within budget.

The Project Director will oversee project governance, portfolio management, performance reporting, and delivery support, partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure initiatives are prioritized, managed effectively, and deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Governance and Oversight: Establish and enforce project management standards, methodologies, and frameworks.
  • Provide assurance that projects are being managed effectively, risks are controlled, and benefits are realized.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the integrated project portfolio to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Coordinate project prioritization processes and provide visibility of project status, risks, and resource utilization.
  • Project Delivery Support: Guide sponsors, project managers, and teams through planning, execution, and issue resolution.
  • Build capability through mentoring, training, and coaching.
  • Ensure flexibility and responsiveness to maintain project momentum.
  • Reporting and Performance: Deliver clear and accurate reporting on project status, risks, financials, and benefits.
  • Support informed executive decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, executives, and business leads.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for resolving issues and removing roadblocks.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of project/portfolio methodologies and tools (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile, MS Project).
  • Desirable: Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Experience within logistics, supply chain, or wholesale distribution industries.
