Job Title: Initial Assessment Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as an Initial Assessment Specialist. This is a critical role that requires strong communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive impact on people's lives.
About the Role:
The Initial Assessment Specialist will be responsible for providing quality assessment, referral, and housing information to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability. You will work collaboratively with our team to develop support, action, or safety plans to respond to immediate client needs, risks, and vulnerabilities.
You will link clients into community supports and programs, particularly those with multiple and complex needs. Your strong communication and relationship-building skills will enable you to build trust with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
This is a permanent, full-time vacancy based in Nunawading, Melbourne. Remuneration is competitive and in line with industry standards.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare, or a related field; or significant relevant experience.
- Experience working with people with multiple and complex needs, demonstrating resilience, empathy, and professionalism.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
