Rail Safety Manager Job Description

About the Role

This is a critical position within our Health and Safety Technical team, responsible for developing and implementing tailored rail safety standards for our expanding network.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement rail safety standards for our expanding network.
  • Provide expert technical advice on rail safety matters.
  • Drive continuous improvement of safety management systems.
  • Govern compliance with rail safety requirements.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A proven ability to navigate complex safety challenges in major infrastructure projects.
  • An ability to build confidence and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A strong commitment to safety and the ability to foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Extensive expertise in rail safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

You will also possess:

  • Tertiary Health and Safety or engineering qualifications, or equivalent experience that demonstrates your extensive capabilities.
  • Extensive experience in the rail industry or related rail infrastructure construction, ideally within NSW.
