Postdoctoral Researcher Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the University of New South Wales. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will play a crucial role in advancing the integration of HIV and Hepatitis C data into public health and clinical applications.

About the Role

This position involves close collaboration with researchers, UNSW, and pathology services to enhance genomic surveillance under the H2Seq program. You will contribute to the development and instruction of innovative laboratory diagnostic techniques, focusing on the amplification, sequencing, and analysis of HIV and HCV genomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement novel laboratory diagnostic techniques for HIV and HCV
  • Collaborate with researchers and pathology services to enhance genomic surveillance
  • Contribute to the development of training materials for diagnostic laboratories
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer and communication with stakeholders
Requirements
  • PhD in virology or molecular biology (or a related/relevant discipline)
  • Demonstrated research experience in molecular virology research
  • Experience in diagnostic laboratory and applied research
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
