Postdoctoral Researcher in Climate Change Research

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Climate Change Research Centre, University of New South Wales. The successful candidate will work on improving projections of ocean heat content increase and associated global and regional sea level change.
The research will focus on detecting and attributing changes in ocean temperatures and salinity using historical observations and the latest generation of global coupled atmosphere ocean climate models. The analysis will aim to quantify the underlying mechanisms controlling the distribution of ocean temperature and salinity change.
This position is part of our ongoing research efforts to advance our understanding of climate change and its impacts on the ocean. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced researchers and contribute to the development of new research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on ocean heat content increase and sea level change using historical observations and climate models
- Develop and implement new methods for detecting and attributing changes in ocean temperatures and salinity
- Collaborate with the research team to advance our understanding of climate change and its impacts on the ocean
Requirements:
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g. oceanography, climate science, physics)
- Strong research background in ocean heat content and sea level change
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
