Capital Works Project Officer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Capital Works Project Officer to join our team at Victoria Police. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the delivery of major construction projects.

About the Role:

  • Manage the delivery of construction projects using effective project management methodologies.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, maintaining a comprehensive risk register.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to stakeholders, including weekly and monthly updates.
  • Attend design and construction meetings, contributing to the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide progress reports.
  • Chair and lead meetings with stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
  • Manage project budgets, reviewing and reporting on expenditure, and assist with contract administration.
  • Raise purchase orders and ensure timely invoice processing.
  • Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering capital works or major projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read and understand technical drawings and construction plans.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Aconex, SharePoint, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to engage with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure, including occasional tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously, use initiative, and be self-motivated and driven.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
  • A strong commitment to Operational Health and Safety and awareness of working on a construction site.
  • A current driver's licence for site visits.
  • A construction induction card or willingness to obtain one.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or professional accreditations in construction and/or project management (desired).

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum.
