
Aboriginal Family Violence Specialist

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team as Case Coordinators, Intake Officers, Perpetrator Response Advisers, Multicultural Advisers and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisers. These roles require significant experience providing case coordination to people affected by family violence, including clients with complex needs from a diversity of backgrounds.
Key Objectives:- To improve the safety of victim survivors by enabling coordinated risk assessment and response
- To provide a forum for sharing information to increase visibility and accountability of perpetrators
- To develop coordinated safety action plans to reduce the risk of harm
- To enhance understanding across government and non-government agencies of the dynamics of family violence, victim survivor safety and perpetrator accountability
The positions are designated under section 42 of the Discrimination Act 1991 and are only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. A Confirmation of Aboriginality may be requested.

Responsibilities:- To provide domestic and family violence-informed case coordination to victim survivors or engage with high-risk family violence perpetrators for the purpose of risk assessment and reducing immediate risks
- To undertake dynamic safety planning that reflects perpetrator patterns of behaviour, partner with victim survivors and coordinate victim-led responses to risk across the service system, including making appropriate referrals to other services
The successful candidates will possess strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including victim survivors, perpetrators and community groups.
