Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) is a community organisation providing crisis intervention, follow-up and case management supports and services to all people affected by domestic violence in the ACT. The priority of our Service is for the safety of the people who have been subjected to domestic or family violence, recognising that the majority are women and children.
DUTIES
The Team Leader – Case Management and Outreach will:
-
Provide leadership, support, and oversight to a multidisciplinary team of Practitioners to ensure the provision of high-quality services to people experiencing domestic and family violence in alignment with best practice frameworks and child-safe principles.

Contribute and provide oversight to workflow including – respond to referrals received, maintain program waitlists, allocate work to Practitioners, monitor the timely completion of case plans and other documentation and data entry; and support Practitioners to safely exit clients from programs as appropriate.

Support Practitioners to conduct risk assessments and case planning and develop strategies to manage and mitigate risks for clients; offering case consultation and guidance to Practitioners in respect of client needs as required.

Build and maintain professional relationships with relevant intersecting government and non-government agencies to promote collaborative practice and integrated service provision and to engage in advocacy as required.

Develop, implement, and update relevant processes to ensure DVCS case management and outreach programs achieve their contracted outputs in an evolving climate.

Maintain an overview of client work and work practices and ensure the Directors are informed and updated of pertinent issues.
-
Prepare reports and contribute to tender documentation and submissions, as required.

Provide training and support to staff across the organisation, as required.
-
Participate in the On-call Team Leader (OCTL) consultation rotating roster, requiring availability after hours on occasion to receive phone consults from staff.

Engage in other tasks as required.
SELECTION CRITERIA
DVCS Team Leaders will require the following skills, experience, and capabilities:
-
Minimum of two-years relevant experience supervising diverse, multidisciplinary staff who are supporting people experiencing domestic and family violence, including victim-survivors at high risk of serious harm or lethality.
-
Strong knowledge and understanding of the drivers of domestic and family violence and its impact across the community; as well as issues affecting people with complex needs who require a range of system responses.

Demonstrated experience in domestic and family violence risk assessment and risk management, crisis intervention and support, and referral work including telephone crisis work and the ability to make sound judgements and appropriate referrals in crisis situations.

Well-developed client-centred responses for people who are experiencing or have experienced trauma, including responses required to address the needs of children and young people impacted by domestic and family violence, in their own right.

Demonstrated ability to work flexibly, prioritise competing tasks and ensure deadlines are met and expectations managed when issues arise.

Demonstrated experience in writing and delivering comprehensive and high-quality reports for funding agencies and governing bodies.
-
Demonstrated commitment to the values of equity, inclusion and diversity.
-
Current Working with Vulnerable People Card.

Current driver's licence.
SALARY
Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the SCHADS Award level 8.1 to level 8.3. Salary commensurate with qualifications, demonstrated skills and experience.
