Speechwriter and Communications Adviser

The Office of the Governor provides strategic advice and support to the Governor of Victoria, managing policy, protocol, and logistical matters while providing direct support to the Governor and Official Secretary.

This role involves drafting keynote addresses, speeches, and speaking points for the Governor of Victoria. Strategic communications advice is also provided across digital platforms under the direction of the Senior Communications Adviser.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in producing high-quality content that engages the public through various programs and events. They will work closely with the Governor's team to deliver key messages and contribute to the Governor's initiatives and goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and editing speeches, speeches outlines, talking points, and other written materials for the Governor
  • Providing strategic communications advice on digital platforms to promote the Governor's initiatives
  • Collaborating with the Protocol and Program Team to develop and implement effective communication strategies

The Speechwriter and Communications Adviser will possess excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. They will be experienced in speechwriting, public relations, or a related field, and have a strong understanding of the Governor's role and responsibilities.
