AP/AR Transformation Expert

The AP/AR Transformation Expert plays a pivotal role in redefining customer financial operations, focusing on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions through system enhancements, process development, and robust internal controls.

This key position is instrumental in delivering sustainable, auditable financial improvements aligned with strategic goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading high-performing teams and driving change in a dynamic environment.

  • Lead transformation initiatives to improve and streamline the AP and AR functions across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with AP/AR staff and ICT supplier to identify opportunities to implement enhancements, optimise workflows, maintain internal controls, and improve efficiency of the customer financial system.
  • Establish key performance indicators that drive efficiency, continuous improvement, and quality customer service outcomes.
  • Design and embed financial controls, policies, and procedures in line with statutory obligations and risk frameworks.
  • Lead and enable a collaborative and high-performing inclusive workforce where safety and wellbeing are prioritised.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale transformation or improvement initiatives in a public sector or financial services environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial operations, with a focus on AP, AR, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Proven experience with the implementation, enhancement, or optimisation of financial systems.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders, external partners, and service providers.
  • Expert level of written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and influence leadership decision-making.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
