This role involves close collaboration with the Deputy Head of Markets, Australia, and the Head of Rates & Credit, Australia, to ensure alignment with the divisional strategy.
The Head of Rates Trading, Australia is accountable for the success of the Australian Rates Trading business across its multiple product offerings.
This role provides global leadership, management, strategic direction, and financial oversight for all facets of ANZ's Rates Business in Australia.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a global Markets business leadership role in a large, complex, multi-geographical financial services organisation.
They will have a strong Markets background and business leadership across Rates products, as well as extensive knowledge of the relevant markets and regulatory framework.
The ideal candidate will have strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, dealing with internal and external clients, and negotiating with clients and stakeholders at all seniority levels.
They will have a strong customer focus and ability to drive results, with experience managing and motivating large diverse teams and leading through ambiguity and in a high-pressure market environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Head of Rates & Credit, Australia, and other global leadership members within the Rates & Credit Trading team to align market-making and risk appetite with client-focused activities.
- Align customer segments with growth objectives across the business and division, focusing on returns and identifying areas for competitive advantage.
- Foster effective collaboration across Sales teams and other Markets stakeholders, as well as Institutional stakeholders.
- Define key products, systems, and risk limits required to achieve business objectives for the Rates Trading business in Australia.
- Drive capability-led growth by building and developing talent to ensure a balance of customer facilitation and strong risk management.
