About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Developer to join our Technology branch at the Australian Fair Work Ombudsman. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, stable, and reliable cloud-based systems that support our business areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to develop and enhance web applications that meet business requirements while being aligned with our enterprise architecture.
  • Deliver technical design, implementation, and maintenance of complex applications and solutions to meet business and customer needs in line with industry best practices and our standards and methodologies.
  • Exhibit strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities in communication of decision and analysis on complex issues.
  • Tackle defect management by identifying root causes to incidents, liaising with business users, and providing solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate the deployment process from prototype to production by coordinating the change process, handling the release instructions and scripts, and liaising with various stakeholders.
  • Maintain software build and deployment processes and tools.
  • Provide accurate specialist advice and guidance to team members.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to efficiently deliver high-quality work.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in application development with.NET core and C#, RESTful API, Azure Cloud offerings, including B2C & AD (Entra), CosmosDB, ServiceBus, Storages, SQL Server, Unit & integration testing, HTML, CSS, and familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD.
  • Knowledge and experience in successfully setting priorities and delivering quality results on time and on budget.
  • Experience working with web standards and web accessibility guidelines.
  • Ability to implement secured solutions to support the information and data security needs of web systems.
  • Displaying initiative and working collaboratively as a member of a development team and with business to deliver technical solutions within a multi-tier enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously to provide technical expertise and effectively organise work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
