Program Manager for Vehicle Efficiency Initiatives

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to lead the delivery of Australia's New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES) initiative.

The successful candidate will report to the NVES Senior Responsible Officer and be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the work of two branches driving the establishment of NVES within existing and new vehicle regulation systems and policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining key strategic relationships with stakeholders;
  • Developing and maintaining a healthy project architecture, including software, to track progress against NVES deliverables;
  • Being responsible for the NVES Project Schedule and maintaining its authority across multiple streams of work;
  • Coordinating reporting activities with project leads to maintain accountability and visibility with the NVES Steering Committee;
  • Providing strong project management rituals and facilitating administrative requirements across sections.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing large government projects, strong project management skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to motivate and enable staff to deliver their best.

A competitive salary is available for this position, estimated to be in the range of $139,418 - $166,758 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation. The role is based in Canberra and requires flexibility and a proactive approach to working in a dynamic environment.
