Welcome to JJ's Waste & Recycling, a leading Australian family-owned and operated waste management company. We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our Canberra (Hume) depot workshop team.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual interested in pursuing a career as a qualified tradesperson. As a Heavy Vehicle Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining our fleet of heavy rigid vehicles, ensuring they are in top condition to meet the needs of our customers.

You will be involved in all facets of preventative maintenance and repair, including brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulics, and fabrication. With our established apprenticeship program, you will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge under the guidance of our experienced Workshop Manager and team.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair heavy rigid vehicles to ensure they are in safe and efficient working condition
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair faults in vehicle systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
  • Work collaboratively with the workshop team to achieve deadlines and maintain high standards of quality and safety
