Role Overview:

As a Civil Engineer, you will be instrumental in supporting the Project Manager through all stages of project execution. Your duties will include project planning, stakeholder engagement, resource allocation, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental regulations.

Key Duties:
  1. Identify opportunities for cost reductions and suggest viable solutions.
  2. Organize and manage resources effectively to achieve project milestones.
  3. Communicate project objectives to the team, ensuring clarity on daily tasks.
  4. Review engineering plans and quantities, collaborating with supervisors to select suitable materials and equipment.
  5. Keep precise records of daily expenditures and production metrics.
  6. Prepare progress claims and oversee project Quality Assurance (QA) documentation.
  7. Monitor on-site safety, quality, and environmental concerns, taking proactive actions.
  8. Ensure proper management and distribution of drawings and documents according to Quality Assurance System standards.
  9. Report discrepancies and suggest enhancements to the Project Manager.
  10. Assist in pinpointing critical project phases and coordinate project meetings.
  11. Oversee subcontractors for variations and defects, ensuring high-quality work standards.
  12. Provide mentorship and support to Graduate Engineers.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • General safety induction card.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of the civil construction sector and contemporary engineering practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project software.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
