Our client, a distinguished mid-tier civil construction firm, is recognized for its robust relationships within the civil construction and mining sectors. This role provides an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative and supportive team culture.

Role Overview:

As a Civil Engineer, you will be instrumental in supporting the Project Manager through various stages of project execution. Your duties will include project planning, stakeholder engagement, resource allocation, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental regulations.

Key Duties:
  1. Identify and propose cost-effective solutions.
  2. Organize and manage resources to achieve project objectives.
  3. Clearly communicate project goals to team members, ensuring daily priorities are understood.
  4. Review engineering designs and quantities, collaborating with supervisors to select suitable materials and equipment.
  5. Maintain precise records of daily expenditures and production.
  6. Prepare progress claims and oversee project Quality Assurance (QA) documentation.
  7. Monitor safety, quality, and environmental compliance on-site, taking proactive measures as necessary.
  8. Ensure the proper management and distribution of drawings and documents according to Quality Assurance System standards.
  9. Report any non-conformances and suggest improvements to the Project Manager.
  10. Assist in identifying critical project milestones and coordinate project meetings.
  11. Manage subcontractors regarding variations and defects, ensuring high-quality work standards.
  12. Provide mentorship and support to Graduate Engineers.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • General safety induction card.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of the civil construction industry and contemporary engineering practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team setting.
