Role Overview:

As a Civil Engineer, you will be integral to supporting the Project Manager through various stages of project execution. Your duties will include project planning, stakeholder engagement, resource allocation, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental regulations.

Key Duties:
  1. Identify and propose cost-effective solutions.
  2. Organize and manage resources to achieve project objectives.
  3. Clearly communicate project goals to the team, ensuring daily priorities are understood.
  4. Review engineering designs and quantities, collaborating with supervisors to select suitable materials and equipment.
  5. Maintain precise records of daily expenditures and production.
  6. Prepare progress claims and oversee project Quality Assurance (QA) documentation.
  7. Monitor safety, quality, and environmental standards on-site, taking proactive measures.
  8. Ensure the proper management and distribution of drawings and documents according to Quality Assurance System requirements.
  9. Report discrepancies and suggest improvements to the Project Manager.
  10. Assist in identifying critical project milestones and coordinate project meetings.
  11. Oversee subcontractors for variations and defects, ensuring high-quality work standards.
  12. Provide mentorship and support to Graduate Engineers.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • General safety induction card.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of the civil construction sector and contemporary engineering practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
