Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced professional to implement and maintain our IP, MPLS, switched, and optical networks.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing complex network faults, instigating solutions, and restoring services to meet service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Diagnostics and Restoration: Diagnose complex network faults, instigate solutions, and restore services to meet service level agreements.
  • Documentation: Complete internal service documentation and update relevant systems.
  • Hardware Management: Upgrade existing hardware, ensure spare hardware availability, and attend data centres and remote sites to replace or install new equipment.
  • Network Operations and Maintenance: Monitor and measure network performance, identify areas for improvement, and maintain the network with hardware and software updates.
  • Service Testing and Commissioning: Install, commission, and test new services, configure network switches and routers, and prepare and execute testing and commissioning plans.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in engineering/telecommunications or related field, or relevant industry experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience operating, managing, and maintaining carrier-grade networks at a national or regional level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of network switching, routing, and transmission technologies.
  • Experience with dynamic routing protocols, such as BGP.
  • Experience working with optical fibre networks, detecting and mitigating DDoS attacks, and operating test equipment.
  • Significant experience with operational processes and procedures, including electronic communication, documentation, and ticket systems.
