Chief Power Systems Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to work on Battery Energy Storage Systems. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting large-scale BESS projects, creating conceptual layouts and one-line diagrams, and assisting with detailed design through the completion of Issue For Construction design packages.
- Develop comprehensive technical reports that clearly explain battery energy storage concepts, use-cases, and feasibility study results to various audiences.
- Support microgrid and distributed energy resources projects by designing detailed electrical engineering plans.
- Evaluate and analyze energy storage technologies, products, and vendors to help clients select and implement suitable solutions.
- Review and develop engineering design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents at various design milestones for BESS projects.
- Participate in design reviews with stakeholders including governing and permitting agencies.
- Help developers, utilities, and other clients identify, define, and implement use-cases for battery energy storage systems in both centralized and distributed locations.
- Conduct quality assurance/quality control on the work of other electrical engineers, designers, or technicians.
- Provide technical support during construction, including bid addenda, submittal reviews, Requests for Information (RFI), Construction Progress Reports (CPR) and change orders, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
- Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, and Easy Power.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range depending on location and experience. The expected remuneration reflects market conditions in Australia.
