Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to join our team in delivering engineering design across the full project lifecycle. With over 50 years of local experience, we have established ourselves as a specialist multi-disciplinary consultancy.

The ideal candidate will have strong design experience in Substations, Renewable Energy, and related sectors, with involvement in technically challenging work across industries including power utilities, solar and hydrogen, oil and gas, mining, water, and infrastructure in both the public and private sectors.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Principal/Lead Engineers to drive detailed design and support the growing Electrical team.
  • Complete and review power system calculations and modelling using industry-standard software, with a strong understanding of first principles and standards.
  • Take ownership and provide leadership to ensure technical project success.
  • Conduct site audits/inspections and offer expert advice.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, clients, internal engineers, and project managers.
Key Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in detailed design engineering related to electrical substations, renewable energy, and the transmission or distribution sectors.
  • Experience in solar farms and/or battery energy storage systems (BESS) design.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Australian energy environment, particularly NEM grid connection requirements, the National Electricity Rules, and AEMO/NSP guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of earthing, protection, cable, and HV design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at working with diverse stakeholders.
  • An Engineers Australia recognized tertiary engineering qualification.
  • Current RPEQ/CPEng certification, or the willingness and eligibility to obtain these.
  • Australian work rights (Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
