Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Android Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for app features development, maintenance, and support for ABC's Android and Android TV applications.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing complex, reusable components and functionality for various ABC digital properties.
  • Taking ownership of technical documentation, ensuring that all development work is properly documented and maintainable.
  • Maintaining awareness of best practices in mobile development and communicating these to the development team, fostering the implementation of best practices.
  • Contributing to the development of best practices and standards to improve output quality.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience developing scalable, complex, and high-performing applications in Kotlin.
  • A strong focus on clean, testable, and tested code.
  • Experience with modern core Android technologies, particularly Jetpack Components.
  • Sound knowledge of Java, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Fastlane, Firebase, Dagger 2, Retrofit 2, Leanback, Kotlin Coroutines, Jetpack Components, OKHttp, Mockito, SDWebImage, RXJava, and Tealium.
  • Demonstrated experience developing complex, secure, and high-performance software for a range of application platforms and devices.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in assessing, selecting, and using modern frameworks and build tools, implementing automated/unit testing, and version control branching, merging, and versioning strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership within a development team and representing that team in discussions with other areas of the business.
  • Excellent skills in planning and prioritizing projects and tasks, delivering with a high attention to detail while working under pressure to tight deadlines.
Benefits

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
