Project Management Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in the fit-out and refurbishment industry. This is a permanent full-time position providing a great opportunity to work with a successful and growing organisation who offer challenging work and the potential for career progression.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the daily delivery of high-quality and on-time construction projects, ensuring that the projects are completed to documented drawings, specifications, and nominated timeframes.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Administering head contracts and subcontracts;
  • Negotiating and letting subcontracts against budget;
  • Acting as team leader throughout the tender process and throughout the delivery of the project;
  • Developing construction methodologies that win tenders;
  • Designing comprehensive project programs and communicating to the team;
  • Identifying and managing construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required;
  • Managing project expenditure and cash flow;
  • Developing a thorough project completion plan;
  • Managing defect identification and rectification;
  • Providing coaching and guidance to project team members.

Key skills and qualifications for this role include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or similar;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the successful delivery of projects from start to finish with a fit-out contractor or builder;
  • Proven leadership ability in building and motivating teams;
  • Detailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements / standards;
  • Strong project financial reporting skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
