This role oversees the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused food and general services at the Victorian Heart Hospital.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing a significant operational budget, leading the Food Services and General Services team, and ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance delivery of services including patient services, ward support, departmental provisioning, infection prevention, and achieving and maintaining the highest food safety standards.

A proven leader with experience in managing diverse teams and building strong stakeholder relationships is required. The ability to problem-solve effectively, foster positive team culture, and work cohesively with colleagues and external partners is vital.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and support to Food and General Services within the Victorian Heart Hospital
  • Overseeing staff performance, development, and training compliance
  • Management of rostering
  • Ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with all standards and regulations

As Culinary Services Director, you will play a vital role in driving and leading the Food and General Services teams to support patient care while working within a supportive and inclusive team culture.

To be successful, you will require excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. A background in healthcare or hospitality, combined with relevant qualifications in leadership, food safety, or service management, will be highly regarded.

About This Role:

This is a full-time position based at the Victorian Heart Hospital in Clayton, reporting to the Support Services Manager.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated capability in balancing competing demands, managing complex operations, and driving service improvements
  • Experience in leading diverse teams and building strong stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • A background in healthcare or hospitality, combined with relevant qualifications in leadership, food safety, or service management

Working Arrangements:

This role is based at the Victorian Heart Hospital in Clayton. You will work closely with the Food Services and General Services team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused services.
