About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Research Assistant to join our team at Swinburne University of Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and conducting data collection through repeated structured clinical interviews with participants in a prospective monitoring study of individuals with bipolar disorder.

The Australian study is part of the multi-national Wellcome-funded project, Tipping Point, managed by Swinburne's Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the successful completion of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct four structured clinical interviews with each participant over an 18-month period
  • Maintain participant engagement with the study
  • Manage relationships with vulnerable participants and ensure rigorous data collection throughout the project
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as a research assistant on a funded psychology research project
  • Demonstrated experience and high standard of fluency with data management platforms (e.g., Excel)
  • Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal and communication skills including resourcefulness, initiative and the ability to meet tight deadlines, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Experience engaging with people living with a mental illness
