Job Title: Quality and Roasting Specialist

Our organization is looking for an experienced Quality and Roasting Specialist to lead the roasting operations, oversee quality control processes, and drive continuous improvement in efficiency and product consistency.

This key role will be responsible for making sure our coffee continues to taste exceptional every single day by ensuring high-quality production, thorough quality control processes, and ongoing optimization of roasting schedules and green bean inventory management.

  • Lead and coach team members across roasting and quality operations to achieve business objectives and enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain efficient roasting schedules, green bean inventory management plans, and quality control processes to ensure consistent and high-quality products.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to champion quality control processes including tastings, cuppings, grading, and reporting to ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications.
  • Oversee roasting plant performance and develop preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and optimize equipment operation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and manage technical relationships to ensure optimal equipment performance and lifespan.
  • Support the implementation of food safety, HACCP, and quality certification standards and best practices across all areas of the business.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in coffee or related production/quality roles.
  • Proven track record in roasting operations and quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of green bean handling, equipment maintenance, and supply planning.
  • Experience working with preventative maintenance and continuous improvement tools.
  • Skilled in cupping, sensory evaluation, and flavor profiling (Q Grader preferred).
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and compliance frameworks.
  • Calm and methodical approach to troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset.
