Laboratory Analyst Role

We seek an experienced Laboratory Analyst to work in a busy laboratory, delivering accurate sampling and testing of products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for chemical and bacteriological analyses, communicating test results to internal and external customers, ensuring efficient and reliable testing services, and maintaining equipment calibration schedules.

  • Perform routine chemical and bacteriological tests on in-line, finished product, and raw materials.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate test results are communicated to customers through reports and verbal updates.
  • Maintain laboratory performance against established measures, including calibration and testing accuracy, result traceability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in environmental monitoring and sampling as required.
  • Receive, check, and store consumables for the laboratory and undertake other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory/testing environment supporting food manufacturing operations.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles.
  • A working knowledge of HACCP and OH&S is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
