Payroll Manager Job Description

Helia is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to join our team. As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all payroll-related activities and components, including pay, leave, superannuation, and tax. You will also be responsible for providing payroll consultancy to employees and the business, as well as acting as a point of contact for Workday implementation related to payroll.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all payroll-related activities and components, including pay, leave, superannuation, and tax.
  • Provide payroll consultancy to employees and the business, including answering queries and resolving problems in a timely and customer-focused manner.
  • Act as a point of contact for Workday implementation related to payroll, including testing and providing advice on systems configuration to ensure compliance with Australian payroll requirements.
  • Manage payroll audits, including compiling reporting requirements as necessary to ensure accurate and timely provision of information.
  • Manage administrative guidelines to ensure they are accurate against regulatory and/or benefit compliance changes.
  • Act as an expert and trainer for payroll and employee self-service systems.
  • Manage and update employee self-service systems.
  • Manage archiving and filings of all employee payroll documentation to ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Prepare reporting and accrual documentation as required, including finance reporting, internal department reporting, statutory and tax-related filings, and end-of-financial-year reporting.
  • Administer benefit programs, including reviewing insurance policy premiums from providers to ensure accuracy and adjustments reconcile with new employees and terminated employees.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and abilities within the payroll field.
  • Experience with computerized HR/payroll systems.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport at all levels and across cultures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, with strong initiative.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, work to deadlines, and complete tasks.
