Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and approachable International Student Support Specialist to provide guidance and support to international students during their first five weeks on campus in Tasmania.

As an International Student Support Specialist, you will be responsible for advising students on various aspects of university life, including timetabling, time management, accommodation, travel, shopping, mobile phone setup, homesickness, and socialization.

  • You will work closely with new students to help them settle into their new environment and overcome any challenges they may face.
  • Your primary goal is to ensure that international students feel supported, comfortable, and confident in their ability to succeed at the University of Tasmania.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.

You should be a graduate of the International Pathway College and have the ability to communicate effectively with students who speak different languages, including Hindi.

  • A positive, outgoing, and personable attitude is essential, as well as high energy levels, patience, and empathy.
  • Student-focused and driven to add value, you will provide your insight and experience to assist students in adjusting to their new environment.
