Job Opportunity: Academic Support Specialist

Seeking individuals to deliver high-quality educational support programs to students aged 5-18 years in individual and paired settings. Programs are conducted outside of school hours, with a focus on engaging multi-sensory instruction models.

Position Overview:

Deliver weekly one-hour academic support sessions, primarily taking place between 7:30am-10:30am and 2:30pm-6:30pm. Educators may start with a few hours per week, with opportunities for increased hours based on new enrollments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Teach and support students in English and/or Mathematics
- Maintain records of assessment, student results, and homework submissions as necessary
- Monitor student progress through administration of assessments provided by the organization
- Correct student homework on a weekly basis and provide feedback
- Be punctual for all scheduled tutoring sessions
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and allied health professionals to develop support programs and assess student progress

Requirements:

- Willingness to engage in regular informal training
- Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
- National Police Check

Desirable Experience:

- Delivery of evidence-based instruction in English or Mathematics
- Delivery of lessons in study skills, note-taking, and test-taking strategies
- Experience in teaching foundation literacy and/or mathematics skills
- Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification
