The role of a Mechanical Engineering Specialist involves working closely with project teams to oversee the construction delivery of allocated projects, focusing on the upgrade of mechanical, electrical, civil and process related assets at our Wollongong Treatment Plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Construction Leads to ensure projects are completed within scope, time, cost, quality and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement daily, weekly and long-term project plans to achieve project outputs with plant, labor, materials and resources.
  • Monitor and review costs, invoices and claims for allocated projects, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Contribute to the constructability of projects during design development, identifying potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate and award subcontract procurement packages, managing tenders and contracts effectively.
  • Inspect and monitor the quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material against drawings and specifications, arranging corrections as needed.
  • Analyze and use document management systems, progress reporting, and compliance reporting to inform decision-making.
  • Manage the performance of Subcontractors and self-perform workforce, achieving project outcomes and goals.
  • Coordinate with external parties and statutory authorities, ensuring site attendance and compliance.
  • Foster a safety, quality, environment and community culture that aligns with organizational values and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in engineering, with a focus on mechanical engineering.
  • Valid NSW Driver's License.
  • White Card (Construction Induction Training).
