Job Title: Geology TechnicianWe are seeking a highly skilled Geology Technician to contribute to our geological team at Kalgoorlie Operations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in collecting and processing geological samples, ensuring timely and accurate data for subsequent analysis by geologists.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the collection and processing of geological samples
  • Metre marking, photographing, cutting, and sample collection of diamond core
  • Transportation of samples to the offsite laboratory (if necessary)
  • Storage and accurate cataloguing of diamond core in the core farm
  • Maintenance of pulp and core library catalogues across the site
Requirements:
  • CURRENT C-Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
  • Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft office products
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to plan daily activities and meet deadlines
  • St Johns Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Mechanical knowledge and skills (desirable)
About the Role:

The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in the collection and processing of geological samples, metre marking, photographing, cutting, and sample collection of diamond core, as well as transportation of samples to the offsite laboratory (if necessary).

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for storage and accurate cataloguing of diamond core in the core farm, maintenance of pulp and core library catalogues across the site, and other related tasks.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent numeracy skills, and good communication skills, written and verbal.
