There is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong skills in EHS and rail safety to join our team on a full-time basis based in Sydney. This role is responsible for assisting in the management of business safety risks and engaging personnel at all levels in fostering a high-performance Environment Health & Rail Safety culture.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Preparing procedures and forms to develop and maintain the EHS& Rail Safety management plans for the project.
- Establishing a comprehensive project safety governance process to undertake regular formal reviews of the EHS & Rail Safety Management Plans and KPIs.
- Supporting key safety governance committees as required including the Project Safety Leadership Team.
- Proactively involved in deploying safety programs in order to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement across the function.
- Establishing and maintaining an annual EHS and Rail Safety audit program as part of the overall Compliance Audit Program and preparation of key reports for the project.
- Ensuring that the Safety Management System is well maintained and in line with required standards.
- Reviewing and testing the various emergency plans and delivery of Safety induction training.
- Prioritising accidents/incidents are first prevented, and if occurring writing thorough reports, recording the incident, ensuring this has been investigated and analysed.
- Participating in the Alstom EHS & Rail Safety audit and accreditation program, including AS4801/ISO45001 14001 accredited EHS management system.
- Sharing and communicating information received from the EHS & Rail Safety Director in relation to changes to publications, safety alerts, industry updates and media releases from ONRSR to officers with safety responsibilities.
