Design Drafter

The NXT Building Group is seeking an experienced Design Drafter to join their Product Development team. This role involves supporting the evolution of award-winning home designs, focusing on product development drafting.

  • Accurately model new house designs in ArchiCAD;
  • Produce detailed documentation for internal departments;
  • Employ critical analysis to improve design and documentation quality;
  • Liaise with designers for effective product development;
  • Maintain existing library of ArchiCAD modules and master plans across the group;
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant building codes for compliance with Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC) of Australia.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Building Design or equivalent qualification;
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and downstream impacts of design modifications;
  • Minimum 2 years' Architectural Drafting experience within the residential home design sector;
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work under pressure;
  • Previous ArchiCAD experience preferred but not essential.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position based at Norwest Business Park NSW. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently as part of a team. A valid Australian work visa is required.
