Senior Design and Construction Manager

The role of the Senior Design and Construction Manager involves providing effective leadership and management to the design and drafting team. This includes overseeing the production of drawings and plans that meet quality, quantity, and time targets.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage the design and drafting function to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and control pre-build planning schedules, allocating resources and costs to ensure duration targets are achieved.
  • Develop strategies to manage costs and achieve costing targets.
  • Liaise with clients, external service providers, and approval channels to resolve design and documentation issues.
  • Implement sustainable systems and processes to support accuracy in design and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with National Construction codes and Australian Standard Codes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior operational role in housing and construction.
  • Qualifications in building design/architecture.
  • Supervisors licence for residential/commercial construction.
  • Skills in building design and drafting.
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and lead people.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience monitoring and reaching targets and milestones.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse groups.
  • Working knowledge of the building and construction industry.
