Lead Digital Preservation Specialist

This is a compelling opportunity to take on the pivotal position of Digital Preservation Strategist, leading the team at Queensland State Archives.
Primary Responsibilities:- Develop and execute digital preservation plans that meet strategic objectives and stakeholder requirements.
- Oversee the operational implementation of preservation strategies, encompassing policy development, resource allocation, and preservation priorities.
- Investigate, recommend, implement, and refine methodologies and best practices for sustainable and secure digital archiving.
- Develop and maintain expertise in digital preservation tools, providing advanced support to teams using the system.
- Provide guidance on preservation formats, metadata, transfers, and imaging best practices for diverse file formats and carrier types.
- Maintain statistics, prepare reports, and inform strategic planning with relevant data.
As a Digital Preservation Strategist, you will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of Queensland's digital heritage.
