
Community Mental Health Specialist

Centrecare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Community Mental Health Specialist to join our team. This role will involve working with clients who require mental health therapy and support.
Job DescriptionAs a Community Mental Health Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to individuals and families in need. Your primary focus will be on delivering therapy and support to clients who are experiencing mild to moderate signs of mental illness. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized plans for intervention and support.
- Provide evidence-based therapy and support to clients, including individual and group sessions.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma level in the field of Mental Health, Community Services, Counselling or Social Work.
- Bachelor's degree in Counselling or Psychology or equivalent.
- 1-2 years' experience in a mental health-related service.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of case managing vulnerable, disadvantaged, and complex needs clients.
- Experience and/or understanding of working with remote Aboriginal communities and their unique needs.
- An understanding of working within a stepped care approach to mental health.
- Ability to communicate and network with a range of stakeholders.
- Computer literate with the ability to work with a range of databases.
